Around the Corner: April 17, 2023
Happy Monday!
Welcome back to this weeks Around the Corner, which is all about updates on this platform, recent articles, personal interests, and my own life.
You might have noticed some posts (including this one!) coming out at various times of day, rather than 9am. I’m experimenting with what time is best for readers! Let me know what you think.
Let’s start with updates on last weeks posts.
Posts from Last Week
We had three posts from last week.
Around the Corner talked a little bit about recent Mifepristone (abortion medication) legal rulings (which have had further developments), twitter blocking links to Substack (the platform that I use to host Kuba’s Corner), and more.
For last Wednesdays post, I shared Three Calls to Action: BSA, Anti-LGBTQ+ Legislation, Rushed Bridges. Lots of activity around all three of these issues: a majority (dare I say…vast majority) of public testimony has been for increasing the BSA and voting against House Bill 105. Hopefully legislators listen!
Finally, Friday was a quick look at events and activities around town.
Platform Updates
I’m feeling pretty good with how everything is going on this space….but have a couple adjustments in mind fairly soon. More to come!
As always, please let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions!
Life is Good
I’ve been spending a lot of time on my own wants recently. Hedonism has been very nice, though I often feel pretty… selfish?… in the aftermath. Working on that.
Nevertheless, it’s been nice to spend more time practicing various forms of self-care. In my case, that’s mostly meant spending time with people I care about.
Feeling very grateful for community.

Happy Birthday(s)
The birthdays of two wonderful people are today! My own mom, Lila, and longtime friend Zach. Happy birthday to you both!
May the day kick off a great year for you.

Music I’ve been listening to a lot lately:
Thanks for reading! Hope your week starts off well.
