Kazimierz Grzeda passed away on Saturday, 29 October, 2022, at the age of 86.
He was my mothers father and my grandfather, and he will be dearly missed.
Kazik was kind and quick to smile. He was a school teacher, administrator, gardener, orchardist, and birder. His students remembered him fondly, and many stayed in touch.
Kazik loved to share the things that made him happy: little candies in the glovebox of his beloved car, facts about the planes flying overhead, wine and other spirits he made himself. He followed athletics of all sorts with great enthusiasm, and always knew how a match or game had gone.
The project that Kazik was the most proud of was the restoration and curation of his property in Jazwiny, where he and Stasia spent the majority of their retirement. They hosted friends and family at every opportunity and built a lifetime of memories.
Over many summers in Poland, Kazik taught me to fish, trim roses, use a scythe, pick apples, keep rabbits, and much more. He was always willing to be a toddlers goalie or see how fast you could run.
Kazimierz is survived by his wife, Stanisława, his daughter, Lilianna, along with a large and loving extended family. May he rest in peace.
Kocham cię, dziadku. Zawsze. Obyś spoczywał w pokoju.
Thank you for sharing about your grandfather. Condolences to your family!
